Production Manager

Boeckeler Instruments, Inc. is seeking a Production Manager for our facility in Tucson, AZ, to oversee the production process and coordinate all activities to ensure enough resources on hand. Focus will be to improve productivity of assembly and machine shop and meet customer expectations on delivery time and quality.
Key Responsibilities

People Management

  • Motivates, supports, and provides guidance to assembly and machine shop employees.
  • Sets productivity goals for team members in assembly & machine shop.
  • Ensures employees follow established policies and procedures.

Processes

  • Evaluates production (assembly & machine shop) resources to ensure continued production, minimal downtime and resource optimization.
  • Balances increased productivity and reduced the cost of manufacturing operations.
  • Develops workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising quality and safety.
  • Updates assembly manuals and production procedures when needed to optimize processes.

Planning

  • Plan work orders based on demand forecast input from Sales.

Scheduling

  • Ensures proper scheduling of employees in assembly and machine shop to meet production requirements.
  • Schedules maintenance as and when necessary, with minimal impact to productivity.
  • Open work orders to meet customer demand.

Quality

  • Ensures delivery deadlines are met.
  • Meets and exceeds all customer service requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) and/or related operations experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of logistical routing.
  • Understanding, and updating of technical drawings, quality manuals and procedures.
  • Understanding and updating process flows, fault tree diagrams.
  • Understanding and using measuring methods and instruments / tools.
  • Lean Six Sigma methodologies and problem-solving techniques (minimum Lean Six Sigma Green Belt).
  • Able to plan & schedule daily tasks.
  • Computer proficiency, incl. Microsoft Office Suite and working within an ERP environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
